Fitting:
The size is the maximum length of the chain (example, from end to end a 14" chain is 14" long). As these collars are designed to slip over the head, the chain needs to be larger than the diameter of its neck. The general rule of thumb is to measure the dog's neck and add 2-3" to ensure the chain will fit over the head (example, a neck circumference of 15 or 16" would require an 18" chain length). And as always, there should be at least a 2-3 stacked finger distance between the collar and the dog at its maximum circumference.
